Welcome back to Sunday School! We have a one-room Sunday School structure, encompassing kindergarten to grade 6. As we continue through the year, we will be exploring how the bible can teach us about how communities celebrate, live together, change, and grow. The weekly activities typically include crafts, drama, cooking, and games. We are eager to have the children become more involved in the church community, by periodically participating in coffee time preparations, greeting, and presenting a Christmas Pageant. The Nursery cares for and nurtures the little ones with play, stories, and crafts to celebrate the changing seasons in the church and in the wider community. There is currently no separate class for the Youth, but they are welcome to join the younger folks as learners or as helpers, or may choose to remain upstairs and enjoy community as part of the congregation. We strive to develop the children’s faith and friendships within the church family.
The next meeting of the Parkdale Book Club will be Saturday, November 9th, from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. Our November book is A Long Way From Home by Peter Carey. You are welcome to join us for the discussion even if you haven’t read the book. Read about our October discussion and see the remainder of the 2019-2020 Reading List in the Parkdale Book Club October Newsletter.
Each week, we send out a “Spiritual Reflection” to individuals who are on our email mailing list. We send a blessing along with these reflections, hoping that the quotes and photographs will bring you peace, joy or encouragement for the week. If you would like to receive our weekly Spiritual Reflections, please contact the church to have your name added to our mailing list. Click here for the October 13th Spiritual Reflection. We invite you to view a gallery of some of our past Spiritual Reflections.
