Coming Events

Sunday School, 10:30 am Sundays – We’re excited to welcome our new Sunday School Coordinator and Teacher, Letitia Berger.  We have a “one-room Sunday School” structure, encompassing kindergarten to grade 6.  As we continue through the year, we will be exploring what the Bible can teach us about how communities celebrate, live together, change, and grow.  The weekly lesson times typically include crafts, drama, cooking, and games.  Letitia is eager to greet all the children returning for Sunday School as well as newcomers.

Sunday, November 20th – The Faith & Justice Committee presents Sunday Zoom Movie Night starting at 6:30 pm.  This month’s movie is The Girl in the Cafe, starring Bill Nighy and Kelly Macdonald.  Read The Girl in the Cafe to learn more about the movie and find the Zoom link.  All are welcome!

Wednesday, November 23rd, 6:30 pm – CROSSOVER is a casual worship gathering for those seeking an alternative to Sunday morning worship.  It incorporates conversation and music with thoughtful reflection on faith and everyday life.  CROSSOVER services are the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of every month at 6:30 pm.  Read more about CROSSOVER.

Sunday, November 27thLadies Lunch Bunch meets for lunch and visiting after the worship service at Dalhousie Boston Pizza.  All ladies are welcome.

The Advent Season spans 4 Sundays from November 27th to December 24th.   Our theme throughout Advent will be Celebrating the Holy Family.  Where do we see hope, peace, joy and love in the Nativity and in our Holy Family?  Please join us in worship on Sunday mornings throughout the Advent season and come out to enjoy other activities planned throughout Advent. Sunday, December 4th — The UCW will host a Bake Sale following the morning worship service.  Check out their delicious baking items.

Sunday, December 4th, 4:00 pmCongregational Christmas Crafts and Dinner.  All are welcome to come out and have fun together creating something festive for Christmas.  A supper will follow after the crafts.  This isn’t just for children!  All are welcome!

Our next Zoom Book Club is on Saturday, December 10th from 10:00 to 11:30 am.  Our December book is Small Things Like These by Claire Keegan.  You are welcome to join us for the discussion, whether or not you have read the book. Sunday, December 11th — The children will be participating in the morning worship service.

Monday, December 12th, 8:15 am – Women’s Breakfast.  The Women’s Breakfast will resume meeting on the 2nd Monday of each month until next June at Cora’s Restaurant in the Brentwood Village Shopping Centre (420 Brentwood Way NW). All women are invited; no reservation required. We usually finish about 9:30. The purpose of this gathering is to socialize and get to know each other. Cost is whatever you order for breakfast. Wednesday, December 14th, 1:30 pmGrinch Tree Making.  Come out for an afternoon of enjoyment with others while you create a Grinch Christmas Tree.

Saturday, December 24, Christmas Eve — There will be two Christmas Eve services, at 7:00 pm and 9:30 pm.

Sunday, December 25, Christmas Day – The Sunday worship service will be at the regular time of 10:30 am.

NO CROSSOVER Service on Wednesday, December 28th.  CROSSOVER Services will resume on January 11, 2023.
